Life has a way of reminding us that very little stays the same.

There are seasons of planting and seasons of harvest. Seasons of waiting and seasons of fulfillment. Some chapters of life seem to last only a moment, while others stretch over years. There are seasons we eagerly anticipate and seasons we never would have chosen. Yet every season is used by God to shape us more into the image of Christ.

As I begin serving in my new role at LCA, I've found myself reflecting on just how faithfully God has guided each step of the journey. Looking back, I can see His hand through every chapter: the exciting ones, the difficult ones, and even the uncertain ones where His purpose wasn't immediately clear.

The writer of Ecclesiastes reminds us:

"For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven." (Ecclesiastes 3:1)

Those words are both comforting and humbling. They remind us that change is not an interruption to God's plan, it is often the very means by which He accomplishes it.

While our circumstances change, our responsibilities change, and even our locations may change, one truth never does:

God never changes.

The prophet Malachi records God's declaration:

"For I the LORD do not change..." (Malachi 3:6)

James echoes this beautiful truth:

"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change." (James 1:17)

What incredible comfort! We serve a God who is never surprised, never uncertain, never inconsistent, and never absent. His character remains perfectly steadfast. His promises remain perfectly true. His love remains perfectly faithful.

As I step into this new season at LCA, I do so with excitement, but more importantly, with confidence, not in myself, but in the Lord who has led every previous season of life. The same God who was faithful yesterday will be faithful today, and He will be faithful tomorrow.

Hebrews 13:8 reminds us:

"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever."

That truth anchors our hearts when everything else seems to be shifting.

Perhaps you're entering a new season yourself. Maybe it's a new job, a new ministry, retirement, marriage, parenthood, grief, healing, or simply an unexpected chapter you never anticipated. Whatever season you find yourself in, remember this:

The season may change.

The scenery may change.

The responsibilities may change.

But your Savior does not.

His grace is still sufficient. His mercy is still new every morning. His presence is still with His people. His purposes are still good.

I'm grateful for where God has brought me and excited to see what He has in store at LCA. More than anything, I pray that this season will be one in which Christ is exalted, His Word is faithfully proclaimed, and lives are transformed by the gospel.

No matter what season we enter next, our confidence rests in the One who remains forever faithful.
